This week, Yolanda will choose the winner of our photo challenge, and you get to choose anything you'd like to share - the theme is "Photographer's Choice".
Here are a few "critter shots" I'd like to share this week. BTW - for someone who really isn't crazy about bugs, I sure find myself enjoying them through a camera lens!
 |
| "What big eyes you have, my dear!" |
 |
| I don't know what this critter is, but he was fascinating to watch. |
 |
| He kept on bending in the middle like this doing some sort of "buggy calisthenics." |
 |
| This spiderweb was built overnight. Such workmanship! |
Such is the destiny of all who forget God;
so perishes the hope of the godless.
What they trust in is fragile;
what they rely on is a spider’s web.
They lean on the web, but it gives way;
they cling to it, but it does not hold.
Job 8:13-15

Beautiful shots!
ReplyDeleteSue, I also don't like bugs, but I LOVE capturing them in a photograph! Great shots!
ReplyDeleteHe looks like a cross between a fly and a hornet ... I hope that long tail isn't all stinger. I like bugs, I find them interesting, but I get cautious when I see a stinger ... I don't like getting stung. Great shots, interesting find. Maybe, down the road, you can find out what it is and fill us in :)

The first bug pic was really excellent. Almost futuristically metallic touch in it.
ReplyDeleteNot crazy about spiders but the amazing perfection of the webs they create is a site to behold. Wonder Who taught them how to do that!
ReplyDeleteLove the photos!
Those are amazing pictures!
ReplyDeleteEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK! I screamed out loud. Those are some very scary spiders : )
ReplyDeleteBig eyes, and hairy legs! how amazing is this capture of bug yoga! super photos....

ReplyDeletethese are great bug shots
ReplyDeleteI love bugs, some are like tiny dinosaurs
Nice shots - especially the 2nd one with the lovely bokeh!
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful photos. I wasn't too crazy about bugs until I started taking close-ups of them and saw how interesting they are. Great meme, I would join in except that I haven't taken any bug photos lately.
ReplyDeleteI love that you took photos of insects...Hmmm.. Now I want to know what that is. I tend to think that long stinger-looking thing is an ovipositor to lay eggs..but could be wrong..I will be looking for an id...Michelle
ReplyDeleteBugs are so much easier to look at in a photograph for me as well. Photos can get so close in that you see details you wouldn't see otherwise.

ReplyDeleteNot sure what kind of insect you have there - - - nor what kind of arachnid either, for that matter.
ReplyDeleteI do know this much for sure and for certain - - - I don't want EITHER ONE of them crawling across my face!
Lovely closeups of both insects and the flower. You might like to contribute to Mandarin Orange Monday too:)
