Mom stolen on the way to a bingo game

This tops it all.

A woman in New Hampshire was evidently in the habit of bringing mom along to bingo games for good luck. Unfortunately, mom was dead... so, to be more specific, the woman in question brought mom's cremated remains to her games.

So mom (and the urn) were sitting in a paper bag in her daughter's minivan when someone who passed by helped themselves to mom (who'd passed on).

Diane Bozzi and her mom used to love going to bingo together, so... "before her mother died in 2002, Bozzi promised her she would take some of her ashes with her to play. Her mother agreed, saying she would bring Bozzi luck."
You can read all about it here.

  2. That's crazy. I don't really know what to say on this one. I can say that its the first time I ever heard of someone remains being stolen.

  4. This definitely takes the cake! My grandmother lives for bingo and the bingo hall. She goes three times a week and if she's not there you know something is wrong. I've got to go to a bingo hall one of these days because the women who go absolutely love it.

  5. This story is both funny and not funny. The Bible quote speaking of the "people who walk in darkness" seems appropriate. Would it be irreverent to have a headline contest for this story?
