Maybe I have a strange sense of humor...


...but I had to laugh at this one.

It turns out that a cleaning lady at a museum in Dortmund, Germany saw what appeared to be a dried rain puddle at the site of a piece of art on loan from a private collection. Being conscientious, she got rid of the offending stain. Just one problem.

The "stain" was actually part of the artwork.

The sculpture, entitled "When It Starts Dripping From The Ceiling", was created by the late Martin Kippenberger, who died in 1997. It was valued at 800,000 euros (or $1.1 million).
