Red cabbage with apples


Another recipe from SparkPeople. This site is a great free resource for those trying to live healthier. Ingredients


    2 cups apple juice or cider
    2-4 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
    1/2 tsp. allspice
    3 cups shredded red cabbage
    1 cup grated red apple
    Pinch of salt

Directions

In medium saucepan, bring apple juice or cider, vinegar and allspice to a boil. Add cabbage, apple and salt. Simmer, uncovered, 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve warm or cold.

Makes 4 servings (approximately 1/2 cup each.)

PS - I'm looking for low-cal cranberry recipes and will be ENDLESSLY grateful for them!!!

  3. Never been a cabbage eater, but this sounds worth trying. I have used www.babyfit.com, sister site to sparkpeople. If I am ever done nursing and being pregnant, I am headed to sparkpeople, though I am in no rush to be done with nursing and pregnancy :)

  11. Mmmm...I hope you post the cranberry recipes. I love anything cranberry.

    It seems a little strange to put cabbage with apples, but knowing you I'm sure it's delicious. I'll have to try it.
