A friend shared this recipe with me when we were first married. We enjoyed it for years, but in the course of moving, the recipe got shuffled around. I found it again just recently and served it for dinner. It disappeared quickly, which is always a good sign!
Ingredients:
1 cut-up broiler-fryer chicken
1 garlic clove, minced
2 lemons, halved
1 tsp MSG (monosodium glutonate) (optional)
8 large mushrooms, halved
Ground nutmeg, ¼ tsp
Pepper, ¼ tsp
Salt, 1 tsp
Vegetable oil, ½ C
Rub chicken with lemon. Squeeze juice from lemon & mix juice with all remaining ingredients (except mushrooms & chicken). Heat in small pan for ~ 5 minutes. Marinate chicken in lemon juice mixture for at least 6 hours, adding mushrooms for last hour only. Broil, turning as needed, brushing with marinade occasionally. Cook mushrooms for last 10 minutes.

Hi! I am visiting for the first time from Tasty Tuesday. I had to stop over because I am always on the lookout for new ways of making chicken and this definitely caught my eye. I do have one question: what is MSG? thanks,

ReplyDelete@Maria,
You can find MSG at your local grocery store. It's called "Accent"
