What I shot.

I'm sharing this next photo at Straight Out of the Camera Saturday, Straight Out of the Camera Sunday, Favorite Photo of the Week and Photo Story Friday. I love the color!

A few weeks ago, I went to beautiful Beaufort NC. The old cemetery there captivated me. I've Photo-shopped one of my shots taken there into a black-and-white image to share at Before and After, Shadow Shot Sunday, The Long Road to China and Edit Me:

The original photo used to make the black & white image is here:

These photos are being shared at the following: Texture Thursday, Wordless Wednesday, Fabulous Friday Challenge, Project Alicia Blog, Wonderful Wednesday, Wobble Over Wednesday, Whimsical Wednesday, Welcome Wednesday, The Wednesday Window, Today Is Rednesday, and Outdoor Wednesday.

The story of my (photographic) life
I'm also sharing my homework for "30 Days of Simply SLR", an online class I'm taking with Faith from Simplicity: My Life In Mostly Photographs. Faith's assignment for day 5 is to share a photo that summarizes what my life is like. Well... having become infected with the photography bug, I find that I'm taking a HUGE number of shots that I'm not pleased with. So when I'm viewing digital images, I find I'm becoming all-too-well-acquainted with the DELETE button:

For day 6, we're asked to share something about ourselves in her BlogFrog community... including a self-portrait. Here's mine:

  7. I am loving that church photo- so pretty!

    I too use that delete button quite a bit. Mostly with self portraits. It's liberating in a way. It's so easy when you hate the shot.

  20. The church photo reminds me so much of a church in a small town in Kansas where I lived as a child.
    SHADOW DANCE

    Shadows here and shadows there,
    Shadows, shadows everywhere!
    Shadows left and shadows right;
    Shadows dancing through the night!
    Shadows crouching on the wall;
    Shadows spring and shadows fall
    On the unsuspecting guest,
    Who thought shadows offered rest!

  25. Lovely to look at...those pink 'bell flowers' are so rich, and the monochrome church window....those two are my favorites. No, maybe the deep rich red rose bud!! Oh heck, they're ALL super.

  29. Wonderful pictures. The flowers are beautiful. The barn scene is great. But, my favorite is the Church scene. The color version is a very pretty picture with the beautiful church windows, reflections in the small window and shadow ladden yard. The black and white version is even better. It gives the shot a more serene feel and is perfect for the Church scene.
    Thanks for sharing!

  32. Great shots & I really like the b&w, but my fave is, of course, the barn & I also like how you included the fence in the shot... it just adds to the whole scene!

    Thanks for joining Barn Charm =)
