A few pix from the past week...

I'm still indulging my new hobby of photography, and went for some brief strolls during the past week. Here are some of the things I found. BTW. the first one I'll submit to Hear It On Sunday, Use It On Monday and Scripture and a Snapshot. These hops pair Scripture verses with photos. It seems to me that Hosea 14:5 is appropriate to the first shot:

"I will be like the dew to Israel; He will blossom like the lily, And he will take root like the cedars of Lebanon.

No, this is NOT a rose. It's a fungus of some sort that I found in a shady woods. Way cool!

  2. Love your pictures. I love to take pictures too. I joined a group called the triangle photography club. It's a meetup group. What fun. Not sure what part of NC you live in but if you are in the RTP area you should join. We have been to gardens, museums, and various other places. It is a group of beginners like me all the way up to professionals. Fun!
    Thanks for your post

  10. I love your pictures, they evoke feelings of peace, well except for the cows, and they remind me of the cows living in the pasture behind me. Would love if you dropped by my blog at kittycrochettwo.blogspot.com when you have a chance. Have a fantastic week!

  20. The fungus is not a fungus unfortunately! It's a silk rose. If you look at the left side real closely, you can see the weave of fabric on the closest petal. The little yellow dots on it are plastic beads that are supposed to resemble water droplets. Someone must have dropped this in the woods.

Your pictures are beautiful! Just this one is not what you think it might have been. :(

I have been looking at mushrooms for a year now, I've been pretty good at observation now. I haven't seen anything like this in the fungi world.
